Springbrook Equestrian Center offers a riding camp throughout the summer months. Even if you have participated in previous year's camps, riders enjoy each summer attended. Campers have a wonderful opportunity to have fun close to home, not only with new found friends but with the key ingredient to camp.....the horses!
Every morning campers have a horsemanship session which covers proper care of the horse followed by mounted instruction. Games on horseback are also offered, everything from musical stalls to obstacle courses. Campers will participate in numerous horse related activities throughout the week.
Eligibility
Each session of camp has up to 10 participants. Camp is open to boys and girls ages seven to sixteen years old with or without previous riding experience. For those without any previous riding instruction, we suggest that participants take a riding lesson or two prior to the camp session. Campers will then be more familiar with the stable and the horses, enjoying their time at Springbook even more.
Days and Times
Each session will run Monday through Thursday 9:30 AM - 3:00 PM and Friday 9:30 AM - 1:00 PM. Drivers are required to sign campers in and out daily. Every Friday, the campers will participate in a grooming contest and a horse show. Family and friends are invited to attend the horse show, awards presentation and lunch which follows the show.
Clothing and Equipment
Long pants are required during the camper's riding lesson. Helmets will be provided. Riding gloves are optional but suggested. Shorts and cloting appropriate for arts and crafts may be worn during te rest of the day. Hard soled shoes with a heel (no sandals or sneakers) must be worn at all times.
